Umag

Umag, a town and a port in the north-west coast of Istria, is a kind of exit and entrance of Croatia to Europe. The historic core of town lies on a peninsula between two shallow bays. The hinterland of town is a fertile and well-treated soil, which is suited to the area is booming agriculture, viticulture, fishing and tourism. It is especially known as the Istrian sports center, given that for many years as host of the ATP tournament, hosted numerous world tennis players. City area is a mix of Mediterranean and Alpine climate, which has a beneficial effect for people with cardiac and pulmonary disorders.

Among other traditional event in late May said the St. Pelegrin - Community celebration in honor of the patron saint of town. Then, 5 August is celebrated Our Lady of the Snow, the folk festival in Materada dedicated to the Mother of God.

15th August folk festival is the Assumption and St. Mary Karst.

During July and August last summer, with concert performances of classical and classical music in the parish church, and attend the end of July tournament, ATP Croatia Open, international tennis tournament at Camp Stella Maris, which is done one of the most famous Croatian tourist town.
