Elafiti, travel & tourism guide
Elafiti the group of islands situated west of Dubrovnik. Although today they no longer live deer, Islands owes them their name (Greek elaphos = deer). Elaphite or Jelenska Islands under that name was first mentioned by Pliny the Elder in the 1st century in his work Naturalis Historia. The largest island in the group, Sipan and Lopud makes it even more, Kolocep (Kalamota) Jakljan, Ruda, Golec and Crkvine and some smaller islands and rocks such as Ridge. With its beautiful landscapes and sandy beaches attract many tourists. They are connected by ferry with Dubrovnik.
In this beautiful row of pearls in blue and clear waters, there are only three inhabited islands: Kolocep, Lopud and Sipan.
Kolocep island
