Dubrovnik weather
Dubrovnik weather - To start off, the weather in Dubrovnik is similar to Croatian weather in general: long hot Mediterranean summers as well as short mild winters. The town's weather is also notable for its long holiday season. The temperatures begin rising as early as February, and in just a matter of months the town enjoys average highs of 17C. On the other hand, the temperatures start dropping a little in September. However, evenings are still warm and pleasant even in October. If you are looking for the perfect romantic evenings of al fresco dining then Dubrovnik has the weather you are looking for! It's a sunny city in general and it's sunshine hours can compare with southern Spanish cities such as Seville and Malaga. There are more than 10 hours of sunshine per day starting from June to late September. Weather like that has made it a favorite between serious sunbathers as well as diving fans, snorkelers and sailors. As soon as you take into consideration it's hot summers and clear waters, it becomes clear that Dubrovnik island beaches are one of the best destinations for naturism holidays.
Current weather in Dubrovnik
If you are in the process of deciding when to take a city break, it mostly comes down to a question of heat. The highest temperatures are in between the months of July and August reaching 30C on a regular basis. However, sea breezes keep things manageable so it's idyllic for the beaches and lazy pavement cafes. If you are more of a sightseeing person and plan to do a lot of that, then you might want to consider spring or autumn when the average temperatures are around 20C. There is also plenty of sunshine then and fewer tourists as well. Most of the locals would say that the best time to visit Dubrovnik is during the spring. That way you can also avoid the heat of the summer.
During the winter months, and besides July and August you should know that there's always the chance of rain. Also spring is drier than autumn. If you compare it to the UK, it's winter weather seems really pleasant. The average December temperature is 14C making it perfect for some relaxed sightseeing. During that time period, you will see 4 hours of Mediterranean sunshine daily.
