Dubrovnik is situated in the south part of Croatia, on the Adriatic coast. It extends from the Duboka Ljuta gorge in the east to Imotica in the west - a distance of 53km and in total it occupies an area of 365.05 square kilometers.

At the moment, the town is surrounded by a group of islands referred to as the elaphite archipelago - Sipan, Kolocep, Lopud, Tajan, Olipa, Jakljan and Daksa.
