Buzet
Buzet is situated in the heart of the northern part of Croatian Istria. It is also called the town of truffles since it is situated in the zone where grows the most expensive underground mushroom. Town standing on the top of hill, above the fertile river Mirna valley, while the newer part of town called. Fontana, developed at the foot of the hill.
It was first mentioned as the prehistoric ruin of a castle, made like the acropolis, which top people could reach climbing circularly, like to the edge of a snail shell.The settlement runs downward slope of the hill from the north to teh south. It has two town gates, four squares connected with three main streets. The main square with the parish church is chiseled uot in the live rock. Buzet, along with the surrounding area known as „Buzestina“ spreads on 165 km wide area where lives around 6000 inhabitants. Under term „Buzestina“implies a part of the town of Buzet, and all the villages and hamlets around Roc, Hum, Vrh, Racisce, Sovinjak.As for the natural attraction, the area abounds in small and large valleys, canyons, hills and mountains that are largely covered with forests.

Church of the Assumption of Mary is right in the heart of town, this church is hard to miss. Distinctively, the church is actually carved into rock, making it a memorable site. Baroque Fountain is especially noteworthy because of its careful upkeep. Completely renovated in the 18th century, this baroque feature still stands as one of the region's most attractive and well-kept historical pieces. Every year in September and October organized truffles days, in Buzet the second weekend in September, organized and great local feast day when in a huge, several meters high, and a large pan, prepare scrambled eggs, with more than 2000 eggs and 10 kilos of truffles, which officially began truffles days.
